According to London's Sunday Mirror, royal sources expect Prince William and Princess Catherine to head to the exclusive island off north Queensland for their post-nuptial escape. The tabloid says the newlyweds, Prince William and Kate will likely spend their wedding night, on Friday, at Buckingham Palace then on Saturday head to Balmoral in Scotland before setting off for an overseas honeymoon. Prince Charles, ''spent time on Lizard Island as a young bachelor'', the newspaper reported. '' Prince William, royal sources indicate, is set to renew the connection.''

'' Prince William himself dropped what may have been a heavy hint when
Prince William spoke to well-wishers during a brief visit to Cairns last month,

A commemorative 20 cent coin celebrating the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton will be released into public circulation in Australia.

The coin, issued by the Royal Australian Mint in Canberra, features a detailed sculpted portrait of the couple which was approved by Queen Elizabeth.

It continues the mint's tradition of celebrating milestones of the royal family, and will be released into circulation after the April 29 wedding.

"There are many royal collectibles out there but this circulating coin creates the excitement of checking your change to see if there happens to be a collectible right there in your pocket," said Federal Assistant Treasurer Bill Shorten.

Sculptor Vladimir Gottwald designed the coin using images of the couple as inspiration.

Prince William has arrived in Australia for a three-day tour of flood and cyclone damaged regions. The Australian Defence Force jet carrying the Prince of Wales touched down at Townsville's RAAF Base at 11am, (AEST) after leaving
New Zealand this morning.


He will travel by Blackhawk helicopter to the Cassowary Coast towns of Cardwell and Tully before heading north to Cairns. Along the way he will meet volunteers who have helped residents recover in the wake of Cyclone Yasi which tore through north Queensland in early February.

Prince William's itinerary has been released ahead of his royal tour of natural disaster areas in Queensland and Victoria in Australia.


The prince will spend the first two days in Queensland visiting communities devastated by flooding and Cyclone Yasi.

He will arrive in Townsville on Saturday and travel north to Cardwell and Tully to talk to victims and volunteers and be the guest of honour at a barbecue.

Swan Hill Mayor Greg Cruikshank said Prince William's presence could attract much-needed tourism back to the area. "It's very heartening to see that he's aware of the situation here in northern Victoria,'' Mr Cruikshank said.It will be the second time in just over a year that the prince has toured Victorian communities affected by natural disasters. In January last year he visited communities hit by the Black Saturday bushfires.
